For this series, Trillo photographed inside of Casa del Migrante, a Catholic-run migrant shelter in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.   Historical Fiction Book Group Thursday, January 7 at 6:30 pm The upcoming virtual session (via Google Meet) will feature a discussion of  When the Emperor was Divine , by Julie Otsuksa,  with Alice Yang, associate professor of history at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Co-Director of their Center for the Study of Pacific War Memories. Professor Yang will lead a discussion of the fictional elements and the nonfictional context of the novel, which is loosely based on the experiences of the author's mother’s family.   Author Talk: Revolutionary Princeton Monday, January 4 at 7:00 pm In conjunction with the anniversary of the Battle of Princeton, author  Larry Kidder  will present a virtual talk dedicated to the experiences and contributions of Princeton residents during the American Revolution. Their stories help us better understand the importance of the town beyond the one-day battle and reveal the human consequences, costs, and benefits of the war experienced by “ordinary” people. The accounts described in the program are included in Kidder’s latest book,  Revolutionary Princeton, 1774-1783: The Biography of an American Town in the Heart of a Civil War , recently published by The Knox Press.   Saturday, November 7 - Hopewell Township, Mercer County Cider Making Fresh apple cider awaits those who help make it! To earn a taste, all you have to do is turn the crank of the cider press...and then help re-fill the hopper with the Macs, Cortlands, and Red Delicious apples that make for a perfect blend. In the farmhouse kitchen, apple pie is in the oven and applesauce is on the stove.
